Higher Education in India is passing through a phase of unprecedented expansion, marked by an explosion in the volume of students, and substantial expansion in a number of institutions and a quantum jump in the level of private funding. Currently, there are about 800 Universities and Institutions of National Importance besides over 41,000 Colleges in the country. The enormity of the challenge of providing thefair opportunity of quality education to ever- growing number of students in Institutions of Higher Learning is a historic opportunity for correcting sectoral and social imbalances, reinvigorating institutions, crossing international benchmarks of excellence and extending the frontiers of knowledge.

In the given context, Centre for Education Growth and Research (CEGR) proposes to deliberate in a Second Higher Education Summit hosted in Multi Purpose Hall, India International Centre, 40, Lodhi Estate, Max Mueller Marg, New Delhi – 110 003 on 21st September, 2016 (Wednesday) from 10:00 am till 05:00 pm. We are expecting participation of approx 300 senior academic leaders, academicians, corporate and bureaucrats from all over India in this summit.
